Team Fiji Chef de Mission Patrick Bower is confident that they can win this year's Pacific Mini Games.
Bower said although they are leading the medal tally with 21 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze, they cannot rule out rivals Tahiti who is in second place with 19 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze.
He said Team Fiji can win more gold medals in rugby league, sevens rugby, weightlifting and the bowls competition, which will see their tally go up and put them closer to their mission of winning the Games.
Meanwhile, the Fiji rugby league side will open their campaign today against the Cooks Islands.
Team manager Mesake Navugona said they are optimistic of retaining the gold medal.
The Pacific Mini Games continues today after a rest day yesterday with lawn bowls, rugby league, sailing, squash, table tennis, tennis and touch rugby competitions in action.
