The ten water bottling companies in the country have until 4pm today to submit the relevant information on why they cannot sustain the newly imposed 20 cents per liter export and excise tax on bottled water.
Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority CEO Jitoko Tikolevu confirms that they information will be analyzed over the weekend.
When questioned by Fijivillage on the concern raised by the Water Bottling Companies whether the new taxes are in force, Tikolevu said it is in force however the companies are being given some flexibility to prepare for full implementation.
