After almost five years delay, people of Labasa will receive a boost to their health services.

Health PRO Iliesa Tora said the new wing of the Labasa Hospital which cost close to $6 million will officially be opened this Friday.

He added the new wing will see an improvement of delivery of services for people in the North.

Tora said the new wing will house 46 beds in total, 26 for the men's medical ward, 6 for the new paying ward and 14 for the isolation ward.

He added the new wing will also house the laboratory, which is being moved from the old wing, the hospital administration, the consultant's rooms, the IT room and the library.

The new wing will be officially opened by Interim Prime Minister Bainimarama this Friday.
