Bolt out to make history
Bolt currently hold the games record with a time of 19.30 seconds while his world record is 19.19 seconds.
Earlier Bolt made a statement by winning back to back Olympic 100m titles, and now he faces a showdown with training partner Yohan Blake.
No athlete in history has won the 100 and 200m sprint crowns in successive Olympics but Bolt is within reach of that achievement.
The great Michael Johnson has said he thinks Bolt can go under 19 seconds for the 200m however only Usain Bolt can provide the truth of the matter, making this final a must see event.
The 200m final will be held tomorrow morning at 7:55.
Meanwhile, Fiji's Leslie Copeland just missed out on the top 12 to make the semifinals, finishing in 13th place out of 42.
In the women's 200 metres final Allyson Felix of USA finally got her hands on a gold medal this morning with a brilliant run.
Felix who was the runner up in Athens and Beijing to Jamaica's Veronica Campbell Brown defeated 100 metres champion Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce in a time of 21.88 seconds.
Meanwhile, the women's 4x100 metres relay heats will start tomorrow at 7:20am while the men's heats will start at 6:45am Saturday.
The men's volleyball semifinals have been confirmed where Brazil will meet Italy and USA will face Bulgaria.
In men>s Basketball, defending champions USA defeated Australia in the last quarterfinal 119 86 and will meet Argentina in the first semifinal.
Kobe Bryant top scored for USA with 20 points.
Russia will meet Spain in the second semifinal.
Looking at the medal tally, China is still leading with 36 gold, 22 silver and 19 bronze, USA is second with 34 gold, 22 silver and 25 bronze while Great Britain is third with 22 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze.
