The Ministry of Education is concerned over the warning by the Ministry of Health regarding the diarrhea outbreak and the possible threat of typhoid.

Interim Minister, Filipe Bole said the warning ought to be seriously considered as unfortunately children are often the most susceptible to waterborne diseases.

Bole said the ministry considers the safety of the children as paramount and any likelihood of interruption in the education must be nipped in the bud. Bole adds that the school environment must be made free of debris and breeding areas for mosquitoes and flies.

Meanwhile Bole reiterated that students must be reminded of simple healthy habits like washing of hands with soap after using the toilet and before eating.
