Fiji Rugby Union's top Sevens referee James Bolabiu is the only Pacific Islander chosen to be part of IRB panel of referees for the Rugby World Cup Sevens.

Bolabiu who has already officiated in the IRB World Sevens Series will for the first time get a chance to officiate in the World Cup Sevens, which comes every four years.

The IRB has also selected referees from New Zealand, Australia and other parts of the world for the three day tournament in Dubai next week.

Bolabiu always had a dream to officiate in the World Cup Sevens and his aim this year is to officiate in one of the Cup semifinals.

Meanwhile, he helped the Digicel Fiji Sevens team in training for the last two days in Sigatoka and has also worked on player’s discipline.

Bolabiu said the main area he focused on was breakdowns.
