Springbok 7s captain, Kyle Brown, is one of several players who might miss the next two HSBC Sevens World Series tournaments in Hong Kong and Japan because of injury.

Brown is struggling to shrug off a shoulder problem and his troublesome knee is a further cause for concern.

Bok coach Paul Treu is taking no chances and has already added SA U20 and scrum half Kevin Luiters to his training group as a precautionary measure as he looks to try and win at Happy Valley for the first time ever.

South Africa is in pool B with New Zealand, Wales and United States.

Meanwhile, Fiji's first game in Hong Kong 7's will be against Scotland at 9.06pm next Friday.

Fiji last won in Hong Kong back in 2009.

NZ is the defending champions.

New Zealand currently lead the standings on 92 points, Fiji is second on 87, South Africa is third with 76 while England is fourth on 74 points.

The Hong Kong tournament is from 23 to 25 March and the Japan event from 31 March to 1 April.
