The Fiji Rugby Union’s National Academy’s Programmes Manager Frank Boivert agrees with Digicel Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan’s comments in relation to the players fitness levels at the Gold Coast 7s.

Ben Ryan said after their Plate final win over Kenya that the players were unfit and there is a lot of work that needs to be done before the next leg in Dubai next month.

Boivert said he cannot agree more with Ryan as there was minimal time to put a team together.

Boivert added he expects an improved performance from the national side in the next tournament with Ryan on board.

Boivert also said in the past the coaches bring in their own trainers but he cannot comment on Ryan’s case.

Meanwhile, the sevens team will arrive at 5:30am tomorrow in Nadi before they prepare for the Dubai 7s on the 29th and 30th of next month where Fiji is pooled with England, Canada and USA.
