International Rugby Board, Oceania coaches educator Frank Boivert believes the selection made by the national selectors to name most overseas based players in this Europe Tour is right as these players are currently performing in the elite championships.

Boivert said the coaches and observers who make these remarks about the number of overseas players in the team should watch the rugby played by these players and then they will realize that the selectors are right in selecting them.

He believes that there is a huge gap between the local players and the overseas players in all terms and if Fiji wants to compete against nations who enjoy the same type of players who play in professional rugby, they have to take advantage of these great players who perform so well in the Top 14, or Aviva league and other professional rugby championships.

Boivert adds that also the talent of these Fijian players abroad is superior to the locals and that is the evident reason for which they are highly paid professionals and the others not.

So in order to compete and perform Fiji needs these players and it is those professional players who took Fiji to the quarter-finals in World Cup 2007.

Fiji will open their 2010 Europe tour with the game against France on the 14th of November.
