Boil drinking water
This is the message from the Health Ministry to residents in the Central Division who are facing water cuts.
Media Liaison Officer Iliesa Tora issued this advice after reports that some people had stomach aches and other symptoms of diarrhea.
He said there were some diarrhea cases recorded in health centers around the country however it has not been confirmed whether it was due to drinking contaminated water.
Meanwhile, the Water Department has confirmed that water supply in areas earlier mentioned, that is Tuirara, Tovata, upper areas of Makoi, Valelevu, Tacirua East, Cunningham, New Town, Caubati, Laucala Beach, Raiwaiqa, Vatuwaqa, Rifle Range, is expected to normalize from now.
Water Department Central Eastern spokesperson Maika Nagalu said the mechanical problems at the Wainibuku Water Pump have been fixed.
