Police and villagers from Tonia village have discovered the body of a 24 year old tertiary student, who was believed to have drowned in Tailevu yesterday.
Assistant Police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms that the body was found floating in the Nabaitavo river earlier this afternoon.
The student, who also from Tonia village in Tailevu was trying to cross a flooded river yesterday evening, when she was swept away by strong currents.
Police are now awaiting the results from the Post Mortem examination which is expected to be carried out tomorrow.
