Captain Cameron Smith has completed Queensland’s final training run at Docklands and is expected to play in tonight's opening State of Origin game.

Smith pulled out of Monday’s official captain and coaches media conference reportedly suffering from a cold but rumours were circulating that he broke camp to spend time with his family.

Former champion halfback and Queensland assistant coach Allan Langer instead faced the media.

Meanwhile, State of Origin paranoia reached fever pitch last night with New South Wales officials going to extraordinary lengths to ensure their final training session remained private.

A pair of fans clad in Queensland jumpers watching on from an empty bar was removed from the premises.

Queensland has kept the title since 2006.

The game kicks off at 10 o’clock tonight.
