The Blues and the Chiefs have reaffirmed their status as the two leading teams in the New Zealand Super Rugby conference with narrow wins.

The Chiefs beat the Rebels 39-33 last night.

Gareth Anscombe scored a hat-trick for the Chiefs and Kurtley Beale also scored in his comeback game.

Meanwhile, the Blues defeated the Stormers 18-17 with the visitors unable to find a drop goal in the closing stages for the victory.

Their victory came courtesy of six penalty goals from first five Chris Noakes.

The Chiefs remain on top of the Kiwi conference with 40 points, four ahead of the Blues.

In tonight’s matches, the Highlanders will play the Sharks at 7.35 while the Force will take on the Reds at 9.40.
