Twenty years Super Rugby has been running and in all probability, the worst season in Blues history will be complete tonight.
The Blues are clinging to hope that the emotion of honouring 15-year servant Keven Mealamu, in his final game for this team, and Charles Piutau’s return, will inspire them at Eden Park.
Blues coach Sir John Kirwan said it’s been difficult and nothing went their way.
Kirwan said he does not want to make excuses and he will take full responsibility for that.
Meanwhile, the last regular round of the 2015 Super Rugby competition sees some exciting matches with the top six teams trying to finish on a high note.
The teams that have qualified for the playoffs are the Hurricanes, Waratahs, Stormers, Chiefs, Highlanders and Brumbies.
In the matches tonight, the Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7.35pm while the Rebels will face the Force at 9.40pm.
The Brumbies will host the Crusaders at 5.30pm tomorrow, the Chiefs will host the Hurricanes at 7.35pm while the Waratahs will face the Reds at 9.40pm.
On Sunday the Bulls will take on the Cheetahs at 3.05am while the Sharks will face the Stormers at 5.10am.
