The Blues have been dealt a double blow ahead of their crucial Super Rugby clash against the Chiefs as All Blacks prop Tony Woodcock and captain Luke Braid have been ruled out of the match.
Woodcock and Braid both suffered shoulder injuries during last week’s loss to the Crusaders.
Despite the setback, coach John Kirwan is optimistic about his team’s chances.
The Blues will have to beat the Chiefs by 38 points on Friday night while also denying them a bonus point to give themselves a chance of making the playoffs.
The Blues will host the Chiefs at 7.35pm this Friday.
