Blues skipper Ali Williams has challenged his team mates to win back the trust of their furious coach in a pivotal final week of Super Rugby ahead of the June break.

The Blues slumped to a second consecutive defeat with a 20-13 loss to the Brumbies at Eden Park on Saturday night, leaving coach Sir John Kirwan distraught and disgusted by a performance he felt lacked the attitude required at this level.

Kirwan blasted his team at halftime, and continued that theme when he faced the media afterwards, describing the effort as “unacceptable” and apologising to fans for what they had to watch.

The Blues will meet the Highlanders at 7.35pm this Saturday.

At 7.35pm on Friday, the Crusaders face the Waratahs while at 9.40pm the Brumbies play the Hurricanes.
