Former Kiwis captain, Benji Marshall’s first game of rugby for the Blues has ended in defeat.
The Blues went down 38-35 to the Hurricanes in a preseason game this afternoon.
The Hurricanes raced out to a 19-nil lead early, before the Blues came back into life to lead at halftime.
The Blues put on two further tries to lead in the second spell before the Hurricanes turned around the game to win.
Meanwhile, the Highlanders registered a 15-11 win over the Brumbies in their opening Super Rugby preseason game last night.
