Blues captain Keven Mealamu dedicated Friday night's 15-10 victory over the Highlanders at Carisbrook to lock forward Kurtis Haiu.

Haiu revealed earlier this week that he was about to undergo treatment for bone cancer and would be out of rugby indefinitely.

Speaking after the win, Mealamu said that the win was for Kurty, after the win enabled them to extend their lead at the top of the New Zealand Super conference.

It was the Blues' sixth consecutive win.

Meanwhile, the Cheetahs also created an upset beating the Brumbies 47 - 36.

Iin games today the Hurricanes take on the Reds at 7.35pm while at 9.40pm the Waratahs take on the Rebels.
