Replacement first five eighth Stephen Brett kicked a 40 metre penalty with time up on the clock to earn the Blues a 22 all draw with the Western Force in their Super 15 rugby match in Perth early this morning.

Brett kept his cool to slot the penalty and deny the Force victory after they had dominated the match.

The Blues themselves displayed strong character top battle back from 22-12 down with four minutes left to share the spoils with an injury depleted home side.

Meanwhile, Hurricanes overcame a 22 day spell between matches to graft out a 29-26 win over the Chiefs last night.

In another match this morning, Lions beat Cheetahs 25-20.
