A blood drive has been organized by the Western Blood Service for patients at Lautoka Hospital who are undergoing heart surgery.
Western Blood Service Manager Jaynesh Narayan said a team of surgeons from New Zealand are in Fiji conducting voluntary heart surgeries and there is a need for blood.
Narayan said Lautoka Hospital needs fresh blood for its patients and a blood drive has been organized for today at the Bank of Baroda in Nadi.
The blood drive started at 9am will go right through to 4pm.
