South Africa are the Wellington 7s champion after thumping the Vodafone Fiji 7s team 26-5 in the final.
The Blitzboks dominated the two‑day tournament, scoring 174 points in their six matches and conceding only 22.
It was the South Africans' first win in Wellington since 2002 after finishing runners‑up in the New Zealand capital in 2014 and 2016.
The Blitzboks outclassed Fiji with four tries to one as they marched on to extend their lead in the World Sevens Series.
Joeli Lutumailagi scored Fiji’s lone try after outpacing Seabelo Senatla to the try line before South Africa came back strongly with a try in the first half through Senatla.
South Africa was leading 7 - 5 at half time.
The man in green continued their rushed defence and shut Fiji’s free flowing attack which forced errors the Olympic champions.
Rosco Specman was very instrumental when he came in the second half setting up two tries and scoring one as well.
Seabelo Senatla was awarded player of the final as he racks up try number 180 to become South Africa's leading all‑time try scorer and draw his country level on the stroke of half‑time.
Looking at the overall points table, South Africa extends their lead with 63 points, Fiji moved up to second place at 51 points while England are in third place with 49 points.
