The Springbok Sevens team will be aiming to go one step further in the Sydney Sevens this weekend after losing in the Wellington 7s final last Sunday.
The Blitzboks have suffered a dreadful run of injuries so far this season, which have ruled out several regulars such as Werner Kok, Frankie Horne, Kyle Brown, Cecil Afrika, Branco du Preez and Ryno Benjamin.
Justin Geduld became the latest injury casualty when he returned home on Monday following a shoulder injury in Wellington.
Springbok Sevens coach Neil Powell is also rotating his squad with an eye on the Olympic Games later this year.
South Africa is pooled with Kenya, Scotland and Russia in Pool B.
Meanwhile Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan will name his 12 players later today.
Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France and Argentina.
Fiji will take on Samoa at 12pm tomorrow in their first pool game.
Fiji takes on France at 3.18pm and their final pool game is against Argentina at 7.21pm tomorrow.
The Cup quarter‑finals start at 12.35pm Sunday, the semis start at 4.57pm and the final kicks off at 8.04pm Sunday.
