The return of controversial Brisbane NRL prop Adam Blair has North Queensland on high alert, prompting calls from Cowboys coach Paul Green for better protection of Johnathan Thurston.
Brisbane prop Josh McGuire believed Kiwi enforcer Blair had "nothing to apologise for" on his return from a one‑match ban for his tackle on Thurston.
Paul Green wasn't also sure, asking officials to be on the lookout for more questionable Blair tactics in Friday night's sold‑out grand final re‑match.
The Broncos play the Cowboys at 9.50pm Friday.
