Former All Blacks and Crusaders captain and current Crusaders head coach Todd Blackadder looks certain to become the new coach of the Scotland rugby team after front-runner Wayne Smith rules himself out.

Blackadder, who is in his fifth season coaching with the Crusaders having started in 2008, also spent a brief time assisting the Scotland side as forwards coach in 2005.

A few options have been looked at on who will be replacing Blackadder if he leaves the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders will meet the Blues this Saturday at 7.35pm.
