Biman Prasad nominated to chair Public Accounts Committee

Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa has nominated opposition parliamentarian and NFP Leader Biman Prasad to chair the Public Accounts Committee.

The Auditor General’s Reports from 2007 to 2013 were tabled in parliament yesterday however the media will get the reports to make it public on Monday.

All the reports will now be assessed by the Public Accounts Committee which should be chaired by the Opposition Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa but she has appointed Biman Prasad to chair the Committee.

Meanwhile the opposition is hoping that the Public Accounts Committee will be appointed soon.

Biman Prasad said the committee should begin its work as soon as possible.

Ro Teimumu Kepa said their next sitting is 21st November.

She is hoping that by that time the Speaker of Parliament will make appointments so that the committee is able to start its work.

The Speaker of Parliament Dr. Jiko Luveni is expected to appoint the Public Accounts Committee.
