The Fiji Retailers Association has come out and praised the move by the interim government to open up the telecommunication market by promulgating the Telecom Bill.
The Bill which will see room for more competitors in the provision of telecommunication services has been seen by the Association as a means to get rid of monopolies in the industry and result in a much better choice for consumers.
This follows revelations by the Permanent Secretary for Communications Amena Youvoli who confirms that Cabinet met on Tuesday and decided to promulgate the Bill.
The Bill will now see the opening of the telecommunication market and allowing for competition.
