A public funeral procession and memorial service for boxing legend Muhammad Ali will take place in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday.

Small family funeral will precede the public service on Friday.

Former United States president Bill Clinton, comedian Billy Crystal and sports journalist Bryant Gumbel will offer eulogies for Ali — the three time world heavyweight champion who died aged 74 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Former US President Bill Clinton delivered a personal and reflective speech today, talking to an intimate crowd in a neighborhood park about loved ones he's lost, and speaking openly about his affection for the late Muhammad Ali who passed away yesterday.

The former president deviated from his political stump to talk about his friend.

George Foreman, the man knocked out by Ali in the famous Rumble in the Jungle fight also paid tribute to his best friend who beat him in 1974.

Foreman called Ali "greater than his legend," a man who overcame a lot of negative publicity due to the courage of his convictions.

Meanwhile, a Forbes article estimates Ali had a net worth of at least 106 million Fijian dollars.

It has been reported that Ali’s wife Lonnie will act as executor of his will, while his former wives, children and even his brother could join the fight over his legacy and earnings.

Ali earned his biggest payday inside the ring on October 10, 1980 against Larry Holmes.

Despite falling by a technical knockout to Holmes, he earned US$8million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He earned US$6million in the ring against Joe Frazier in 1975 and US$5.45 million when he defeated George Foreman in 1974.

Muhammad Ali had achieved much success throughout his incredible decades long boxing career plus his support for charities outside of the ring made him a one of a kind man.

Ali will be laid to rest on Saturday.
