Day one of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s ended with the Digicel Fiji Barbarians outclassing Post Fiji Crusaders 26-7.

There were some potential players who showed glimpses of brilliance like Kaminieli Turagalada and Michael Nabuliwaqa of Samurai Barracudas while Aisake Katonibau, Sevuloni Lutu and veteran Dale Tonawai stood out for Army Green.

Former national rep Sitiveni Waqa of Police wants his spot back in the national side after guiding Police through their pool games while Sikeli Vuruna, Joji Ragamate, Nikola Matawalu, Joeli Lutumailagi, Setefano Cakau and Apisai Naiyabo are some notable names expected to make the trip to the next leg of the World 7s series.

Some crunch matches taking place tomorrow in the eliminations are defending champions Army Green taking on Suva Stallions, Police against Post Fiji Crusaders, Red Rock two and Uprising while the Digicel Fiji Barbarians will meet Coastal Epic Dolphins in the last match at 10:15am.

The second day of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will kick off at 9am with defending champions Army Green taking on Suva Stallions.
