Big guns stamp their mark
Marist Brothers High School’s Banuve Tabakaucoro cruised through the finals of the Mens 100 meters event clocking a time of 10.5 seconds followed by Bera Tabua from Korolevu while Mataiasi Savou finished third with in a time of 11.25 seconds.
In the open womens 100 meter final, Sisilia Seavula finished first in a time of 12.53 seconds, Alisi from ACS finished second while Litiana Miller came in third clocking 12.59 seconds.
In the Open womens 400 meter final, Ana Kaloucava finished first clocking 58.4 seconds.
Marist’s Tira took out the Mens open 400 meter final with a time of 49.3 sec while Niko Verekauta had to settle for second place in a time of 49.8 seconds.
In the 800 meter open womens final, Nadarivatu’s Sereima Liku finished first time of 2 minutes 26 seconds.
Fiji Athletics is using the Easter Games as a trial to pick the squad for the Pacific Games later this year.
