Betting order of the day
Betting was the order of the day for many as Fiji made strong finishes in the games leading up to the final against South Africa in the HK Sevens.
In Makoi, two men decided to place a $100 bet last night, one going for Fiji while the other going for the South Africans.
They drew up a document and both signed off in the presence of witnesses around the grog bowl.
However, there were some problems faced by the person who placed his money on Fiji as the loser of the bet, who went for South Africa did not want to part with his $100.
It then almost turned into a court case as threats were made that the winner of the bet would take the signed document to the Valelevu Police Station. Only then the South African supporter gave the 100 dollars.
In Navua, a father and son bet for $50.
The father going for England to win while the son said Fiji would take the Hong Kong title.
The father gave his son $50 soon after the final.
