The Fiji under 19 rugby side must come up with better game plan if they are to remain in contention for the Oceania under 19 championship title.

The Eroni Verebula coached side has lost their opening match to Samoa 34-22 in Apia and is now preparing to face Tonga in their next game on Saturday.

Team manager Viliame Kanatabua said the players will have to lift their performance against the Tongans because the loss will see them bow out of the championship.

Kanatabua said after the Samoan match, they had a good talk with the players, even the captain of the side Noa Naikataci, who alone scored 17 points last week, outlined the mistakes that should not be repeated.

He said Fiji should beat the Tongans and setup the final again with Samoa.

The Fiji/Tonga match will kick off on Saturday at 5pm in Apia.
