Knights coach Rick Stone believes former Fiji Bati player, Akuila Uate can be an even more potent weapon this year than during his breakout 2010 NRL season.

Uate became one of the competition’s most feared ball carriers last season, scoring 21 tries, more than any player in the NRL and accepting the Dally M award for wing of the year.

Stone is confident the best is yet to come from Uate, who played his first pre season game of 2011 for Newcastle against Cronulla on Saturday night.

Uate represented Fiji at the 2008 World Cup, and switched allegiances late last year and is now eligible to play for NSW and Australia.
