Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz admitted the best team won after Spain beat them 1-0 to book a World Cup quarter-final with Paraguay.

David Villa's strike proved to be the difference in Cape Town. Queiroz said that Spain had the better chances and they deserved to win.

He added that he wanted his side to be able to leave the field with their heads held high, and he thinks they accomplished that goal despite losing to Spain.

Portugal's star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, had a frustrating game, and he refused to talk to reporters as he left the ground.

Meanwhile Paraguay beat Japan 5-3 in penalty shoot out.

Looking at the Quarter-finals, Brazil will now play Netherlands on Saturday morning at 2am and at 6.30am Uruguay will take on Ghana.

Argentina will play Germany at 2am on Sunday morning and at 6.30am Paraguay will face Spain.
