The Fiji women’s 4x100m relay team won gold earlier this afternoon after Younis Bese beat her opponent in the last baton change.
Papua New Guinea was in the lead after Pacific Sprint Queen, Toea Wisil created a big gap in the second baton change.
Fiji managed to hold the gap before Bese came away strongly to beat her PNG opponent.
Meanwhile the Fiji men’s 4x100m relay team finished in second place in the final.
In soccer, Fiji will play PNG for the bronze medal this hour. New Caledonia will play Tahiti in the gold medal playoff at 9 tonight.
In netball, the Fiji Pearls will play Samoa at 7pm in the semi-final.
The Fiji women’s hockey team will play Tonga in the semi final at 7.30 tonight. Our men’s hockey team is confirmed for the gold medal playoff at 4.30pm tomorrow. Their opponent is either Vanuatu or PNG.
