The Digicel Fiji 7s rugby team will focus on getting the basics right ahead of the South Africa 7s and they will try not to be over confident.

Coach Ben Ryan said not only do they have to travel but the knocks and niggles from last week and the associated fatigue is one of the reasons winning back-to-back titles has been hard for all the teams in the World Series history.

The team arrived in South Africa yesterday after more than 17 hours of traveling from Dubai.

Ryan said some teams will want to improve on some disappointing results while others will want to continue where they left off in Dubai.

Ryan added they gained new Fijian fans around the world after last week’s performance and it reminds them why they work so hard to have days like those but they have a tough start against Australia on Saturday.

Fiji will play Australia at 11.28pm Saturday, France at 2.34am Sunday before facing Scotland at 6.14am Sunday.

The 7s team is expected to meet either England, Samoa or Argentina in the Cup quarterfinals.

Barring any upsets Fiji will face either New Zealand, Kenya, South Africa or Wales in the semifinals.

The Cup quarterfinals will start at 11:39pm Sunday, the Cup semis at 3:49am Monday and the Cup final will be at 6:30am Monday.
