The Ousted Opposition Leader maintains that he never refused the invitation to join the National Council for Building A Better Fiji.
Mick Beddoes clarifies that he did not reject the initial invitation to join the Council but instead, in response to the invite, had given a letter outlining certain issues that he wanted addressed before he was to join.
Beddoes adds that it was important that before he joined, he received a positive response to his letter regarding his concerns, which had then come from the NCBBF Co-Chairperson Archbishop Petero Mataca after a phone conversation between the two.
The Ousted Opposition Leader also said that subject which led to him accepting the invitation was the need to relook at the role of the military.
