The ousted Opposition Leader is hoping to meet with the Australian High Commissioner to Fiji with a written and verbal appeal to reconsider the exclusion of Fiji citizens from Australia's Guest Workers Scheme.
Mick Beddoes said he is disappointed with the announcement as Fiji has been trying to get Australia and New Zealand to open up opportunities for seasonal workers.
He added that the citizens of Fiji were not responsible for the current situation in the country and should not be penalized.
According to the Herald Sun Newspaper, Fiji citizens will be blacklisted from working in Australia under the Pacific Workers Scheme.
Australia is preparing to open its shores to thousands of guest workers from the Pacific, as part of a radical plan to ease labour shortages in the bush.
