The former Leader of the Opposition Mick Beddoes has called for the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum's resignation after he made a mistake in appointing Adi Koila Nailatikau as Chairperson of the Constituency Boundaries Commission.
According to Beddoes, the mistake has caused a lot of embarrassment for the interim administration and the President's Office.
SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai also said that Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has made a serious blunder and he should resign.
However, Sayed-Khaiyum said the problem has been rectified and the matter should rest here.
Some NGOs have also called for the Interim Attorney General to resign.
Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator Shamima Ali said Sayed-Khaiyum should step down from his post as soon as possible.
Pacific Centre for Public Integrity Director Angie Heffernan said the mistake was expected as Sayed-Khaiyum was appointed illegally.
