The Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has asked the civil servants in Qarani in Gau to be true and diligent to their job.

Commodore Bainimarama told police officers, health staff, teachers and officers from the agriculture department that they were to be honest with themselves and the work they carry out everyday.

Commodore Bainimarama while addressing the civil servants at the Qarani Police Post warned them that though their superiors were hundreds of miles away from them, they were still required to be at work on time everyday.

There were reports that the civil servants were taking advantage of the fact that they were in the islands and the "malua fever" kicked in, and warned them they could be sent home if they were not doing their work diligently.
