The Ministry of Education has stressed to school managements and administrators to be realistic with their demands from parents in terms of school uniforms, boarding kit lists, sports uniforms and other educational requirements.

The ministry reveals that it has not given any exclusive right to any garment factory for the production of uniforms and parents are free to buy uniforms they can afford from retail outlets around the country, or better still make their own.

The Education Ministry last year requested school managements and administrators to refrain from giving exclusive rights to a particular company for production of school uniforms. It says such an act contravenes the Fair Trading Act and is not in the best interest of all.
