Any Police Officer that does not bring in remand prisoners in time for their trial will be charged with contempt of Court.

That was the warning issued to the Police after the High Court trial had to be delayed for thirty minutes as the third accused in the case was not in Court.

High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo this morning told officer in charge, Sergeant Satish Dutt that an example has to be set as the officers are being paid through taxpayers money and at times they act as if they are the country's President and above the law.

Justice Temo told Sergeant Dutt that the absence of an accused in any trial sees the proceedings being held up and this is a waste of taxpayer’s money.

He was informed by the Officer that the reason for the delay was the fact that they had been in a meeting.
