Be careful not to start unnecessary fires this Diwali long weekend.
This is the advice of National Fire Authority Chief, Mark Reid who said that people need to make sure that supervision of children playing with firecrackers is a top priority and said there are a lot of safety measures that need to be taken in account this Diwali long weekend.
Reid also said that people must use common sense at a time like this and adds that Diwali is a time for fun, lights, family and prayer, not tragedy.
Reid also adds that his firefighters will be on stand by should any need arise.
