A businessman whose service station had been robbed twice in four days has called on police to be more vigilant and conduct proper patrolling during this festive season.
Managing Director Kundan Singh Service station Baljeet Singh told Fijivillage this morning that service stations are the most targeted businesses and they are now trying to consult the Home Affairs Minister to look into their grievances.
According to Singh, police were quick to set up tents outside the interim Attorney General's house following a break-in and they should do the same in this case.
Meanwhile, the manhunt continues for the seven men who robbed the Kundan Singh Service station in Princess Road Tamavua this morning.
The seven armed with pinch bars came in a Rav 4 and drove the vehicle inside the service station before taking cash and other items.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Raiwai.
Deputy Director Police Operation, SP Erami Raibe has made it clear that police are not there just to protect the business community. He said residential areas are also their priority and they will see that there is a decrease in the criminal activities.
