The government should be fair and consider all transport operators in the country.
Those were the words of Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram on government's decision to give Fiji Bus Operators a direct subsidy of 21.9 percent that will be based on monthly revenue reported by each bus operator.
He said the increase they received in flag rates is not enough.
Ram added he could not understand how the interim government had totally forgotten about taxi operators and had called on the interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry to hold dialogue with the taxi operators so a solution can be found.
He said there are more than 6,800 taxi operators so something must be done to help them out. A meeting is expected to be held sometime this week.
