Bau clans to meet soon
Early last year, discussions on the vacant title were held and Ratu Epeli's name came up as he is also the direct descendent of Ratu Seru Cakobau.
Another meeting is expected soon.
Vunivalu herald, Ratu Veiwili Komaitai told Fijivillage News that discussions on the title will be held between the families of Mataweilagi and Naisogolaca.
Fiji's first President, the late Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau was given the Tui Cakau title after he was appointed the President of Fiji. However Ratu Veiwili Komaitai said this does not mean that Bau will follow suit.
Meanwhile Ratu Epeli Nailatikau continues the tradition to be the first man from the chiefly island of Bau to hold the highest position in Fiji.
His late uncle Ratu Sir George Cakobau became the first Governor General of Fiji while his cousin and Roko Tui Bau was the former Vice President Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi.
