Battle on for play-makers spot
Current squad members who have played in that position includes Peni Gaunimeke, Ilai Tinai and Miti Nacagilevu while Waisale Dau has been impressive for the Police in the past tournaments.
Also Wardens half back Livai Ikanikoda, Emosi Vucago and Nikola Matawalu are the other players who can also be slotted into that play-makers position.
During the USA 7s, Gaunimeke got the nod during the pool games but coach Iliesa Tanivula used Miti Nacagilevu from the quarter finals to the final.
In the past weeks during the Fiji Babas outing in the local 7s scene they used Dau in most of their pool games with Gaunimeke coming in as an impact player.
Tinai and Nacagilevu’s ability to also play at rover and on the wing will give them a slight edge when the team is announced tomorrow.
The Hong Kong 7s will kick off next Friday and Fiji is pooled with Kenya, Russia and Malaysia.
