The battle between some of the well known brains in the 7s rugby code in the world and locally will be the highlight of the Uprising Fiji International 7s which kicks off this morning at the TFL Stadium.

New Zealand 7s coach Gordon Tietjens who has tasted the most success in the IRB 7s series will team up for the first time with 7s wizard Waisale Serevi in the Digicel Matai team.

Also his former student Matua Parkinson will look after the NZ 7s team with former All Black Buck Shelford as technical adviser.

Wardens will have former Fiji coach Joe Savou with Manasa Bari in the Police team, Jope Tuikabe with Army, Sakeasi Vonolagi in the Navy side and Lote Rasiga in charge of the Red Rock team.

Uprising owner, Rene Munch who has toured the world playing in some of the well known 7s said this is the first invitational tournament which has attracted the best coaches in the code.

Munch said that the presence of the Samoan 7s team will make them the favorites but he has placed his money on the Wardens to win on tomorrow.
