A 16yr old record and a life time dream, to be crowned as the 2009 Coca-Cola Games Blue Ribbon champion, is the challenge that awaits the battle in the 100m Senior boys finals on Friday night.

The 100m record set way back in 1993 by Viliame Nasuku of QVS, in a time of 10.74 seconds, is the oldest record at the Coke Games for the boys, and has stood in the way for top athletes like Iowane Dovumatua, Jone Biutilodoni and Tilesh Naidu, in the past years.

With only a day left for the biggest athletics event in the South Pacific, this year's showdown is expected to be close.

Leading the charge is QVS, Jocame Waqavonovono and Sila Central's Tevita Nalovo, who both ran in the time of 10.7 seconds in their respective Zones.

Nalovo is confident he will set a new record in the blue ribbon on Friday.
