The Australian High Commissioner today commended over 150 disabled students who are taking part in the Central Eastern Regional Games for the disabled in Suva this morning.

While speaking at the launch, James Batley said seeing children of all ages - some of whom were deaf and others without limbs - taking part in sports should be an incentive for all other children.

The Australian Government has so far invested over $250000 in aid since 2006 and between 2005 and 2007 has placed 44 volunteers from the Australian Youth Ambassador with various NGO's dealing with special needs.

The Regional Games, which will see kids playing volleyball while standing as well as sitting, closes at 2pm today with the winner taking part in the national meet in October this year.
