The Digicel Fiji 7s team will meet New Zealand in a nail biting semifinal at the Hong Kong 7s after they beat South Africa in sudden death by 24-19.

Being a first-timer to So Kon Po is not an excuse!

That is living proof from David Batiratu, who scored Fiji's try when their quarter final match went into "sudden death" this afternoon to beat South Africa 24-19.

Both sides were tied at 19-all after full time.

Fiji's tries came from David Batiratu, Seremaia Burotu, Emosi Vucago and Nikola Matawalu.

Fiji will now meet New Zealand in the semifinals at 8:15pm.

NZ beat Portugal in the first quarter final 33-5.

In other quarter final matches, Samoa beat Australia 15-12 and England edged Russia 10-7.

Samoa will meet England in the second semifinal at 8:37pm.

The finals of the Hong Kong 7s kick off at 10:47pm tonight.
